Rule Details

FieldDescription
Rule NameUnique name used to identify the automation rule
DescriptionBrief explanation of the rule’s purpose

Configure Rule Conditions

Conditions determine when the Automation Engine should execute a rule.

Trigger Events

Select one or more trigger events:
EventDescription
Vuln CreatedExecutes when a new vulnerability is created
Vuln UpdatedExecutes when an existing vulnerability is modified

Condition Builder

Each condition consists of:
ComponentDescription
FieldVulnerability attribute to evaluate
OperatorComparison method used for evaluation
ValueValue that must match for execution

Example Conditions

  • Severity equals Critical
  • State equals Unresolved
  • Source equals Qualys
  • Category contains Web Application
Use Add Condition to create more complex workflows.
Rules are executed only when all configured conditions are satisfied.

Configure Rule Actions

Automation Engine Actions
Actions determine what happens when vulnerabilities match the configured conditions.

Available Actions

Push to Jira

Automatically create or update Jira tickets for matching vulnerabilities.

Archive Vulnerability

Automatically move matching vulnerabilities to the archive.
You can configure multiple actions within a single automation rule.

How Automation Engine Works

  1. A vulnerability is created or updated.
  2. Automation Engine evaluates all active rules.
  3. Matching conditions are checked.
  4. Configured actions are executed automatically.
  5. Workflow activity is recorded for auditing and tracking.

Example Workflow

Automatically Create Jira Tickets for Critical Vulnerabilities

Trigger Event
  • Vulnerability Created
Condition
  • Severity equals Critical
Action
  • Push to Jira
Result Every newly discovered critical vulnerability automatically generates a Jira ticket for remediation tracking.

Automation Use Cases

Ticket Automation

Automatically create remediation tickets for critical findings.

Workflow Cleanup

Archive accepted risks and informational findings automatically.

Process Standardization

Apply consistent vulnerability handling across teams.
